Hi, I'm Torrey. Welcome to Left Field, where creativity runs amok and imagination is ALWAYS more important than knowledge. Shoes are not allowed but ties are optional. This is a repository of snippets from my life out here in Left Field. One never knows what shiny bits of creativity will be found here... cards, scrapbook layouts, photography, poetry, recipes, ponderings, rantings and musings. It could be anything! Life in Left Field is always changing, always real, always ...interesting.

Inner Light

A few days ago, it was my bestee's birthday. Let's just say...she has now (and for the next four months) caught up to me in age. I like to tease her about how she can now officially become a Red-Hatter, join AARP, order from the senior menu and receive discounts all over the place.

Then, I remember....

I, too, am "that" age.

*sigh*

Crimanently. When did we become "that" age? Ok...for her--a few days ago. For me, about 8 months ago (for those of you literal types). I didn't mean that as a literal question. It was more a rhetorical, philosophical musing sort of ponderance. I mean, I still FEEL about 20 something on the INSIDE. But, my joints and mirror say otherwise.

Stupid joints. Stupid mirror.

At any rate, I made this card for Jodi, in honor of her birthday. She's my muse. She's my mojo. She's my inspiration.

Jodi, you'll NEVER be old in my eyes, because the light within you burns so brightly.

Happy Birthday, my bestee. I love you.

  1. Fabulous card! I love the bright colours and how you coloured her.

P.S. You asked how I attached Grandpa to my card. For some reason I happened to have some jewelry wire so I just wrapped it around a pencil then Glossy Accented it to two scrap pieces of paper. Then just stuck that on the back of Grandpa.

But happy birthday to Jodi. I know she adored that beautiful card. After all, why wouldn't she since it's so flipping lovely?

Gorgeous coloring of that gorgeous image. Gorgeous design. Gorgeous color scheme. Gorgeous blah blah blah. And a great sentiment that is especially true for Jodi (and you).

    Off to "Pin it".
