Color my world

Tomorrow is my sister's birthday. Happy Birthday, Heidi!!! I wanted to make her a card that expressed a message I want to share with her...without being overly preachy or somber. I want to let her know that the time we have on this earth is fleeting...so the time to shine is...NOW and not..."someday".

For this project, puppies or butterflies were not even on the list of "possibilities". That's just not me. So...it was Crayons to the rescue! Now THAT'S me. I picked up this cute image from A Day For Daisies specifically with this card in mind.

Some months back, I saw a tutorial on a "magic window" card and thought it was SO COOL that I filed it away in my idea arsenal for future use...someday, somewhere, somehow. So cool.

Here is my version of the Magic Card

The way it works is there is a black and white image on the front of the card...as you pull up on the tab, it magically transforms into a full-color image as it pops out the top of the card. I used black brads as the "stoppers" on the top of my card to prevent the image from sliding completely out. I colored the image in Photoshop--decided to give my colored pencils a day off.

Here is a good tutorial video by Crystal Alves-Tusim on how to do it.

I'd like to enter my card in the following challenges:

Ingredients:
Crayon Box - A Day For Daisies
Brads - Creative Impressions
Nestability die - Spellbinders (lg classic oval)
cardstock
decorative scissors - Fiskars
circle punch - Family Treasures
ribbon
eyelet
