This is a repository of snippets from my life out here in Left Field. One never knows what shiny bits of creativity will be found here... cards, scrapbook layouts, photography, poetry, recipes, ponderings, rantings and musings. It could be anything! Carrots

How many of you out there in Blogland have read or seen "Anne of Green Gables"?

I bet most of you.

I happen to love the character of Anne (with an "e") Shirley played by Megan Fallows in the miniseries movie. She was a PERFECT choice to play Anne (with an "e").

Anne (insert "e") is feisty, irreverent, smart-as-a-whip, and...a redhead. I totally relate to her. She's a writer...I'm a writer. She has red hair...I have red hair (well, Auburn...sorry Anne). She's unconventional...I spend my life in Left Field...so yeah.

My husband even affectionately calls me "Carrots".

When I ran across this image of Anne (with an "e") from Mo Manning, I had to get it. Had to. Thank goodness digital stamps are not as pricey as their rubbah counterparts. Over at Bronte and Bella's challenge blog, aka DP2--Mo's Challenge Blog (if ya wanna get all technical), they're having an "Anything Goes" challenge.

Perfect opportunity to use my coveted Carrots, er Anne, stamp.

Here is my tribute to the fiery, ginger-headed gal who prefers to be called...Cordelia. I colored her with my Prismacolor pencils...then  paper-toled her into like 5 layers. Then, I just started layering patterned paper. What can I say? I like layers. When I showed this to my husband he replied, "Don't ever give this card away to anyone, okay?"

I guess he likes it. That makes me smile.

Remember: "Tomorrow is ALWAYS fresh, with no mistakes in it."

I'd like to enter this card in the following challenges:
Ingredients:
Prince Edward Island stamp - Mo Manning
Patterned paper - My Minds Eye
Nestabilities - Spellbinders (lacy oval, lg scalloped oval)
Prismacolor pencils
gems - Michaels
eyelet corner punch - All Night Media
scallop border punch - EK Success for Martha Stewart
leaf trim
brown stamping ink - Tsukineko
cardstock

  2. Beautiful card. I got a kick out of Anne talking about Katherine with a "K" instead of a "C." That's how I named my daughter. Anne is a wonderful character. Thanks so much for joining us at 2 Sisters this week.

  13. I read the "Anne" series when my daughter read them and really enjoyed them.

Your card is fantabulous. Your coloring is gorgeous. I especially love the way you did her bag. Did you paper-piece it or color it to look like the green background paper? Either way, it's sensational.

  14. Thank you for the comments! Kathi, I just colored her bag--the pattern was already on it. I picked the background paper to match what I had done after I colored her bag!
