Hi, I'm Torrey. Welcome to Left Field, where creativity runs amok and imagination is ALWAYS more important than knowledge. Shoes are not allowed but ties are optional. This is a repository of snippets from my life out here in Left Field. One never knows what shiny bits of creativity will be found here... cards, scrapbook layouts, photography, poetry, recipes, ponderings, rantings and musings. It could be anything! Chillaxin' at CYP

Hidy Ho!

It's July. It's July. It's Juuuuuly.

July is a banner month for this crafty chick. It marks the start of not 1 but 2 DT terms for me. Y'all already know about Kenny K, but I'm also a guest designer for Craft Your Passion (CYP) for the entire month of July!! Yippee!! I'm honored that they chose me to come play in their creative sandbox for awhile.

The challenge this week at CYP is "Chillin' and Grillin'" and our sponsor is Digital Delights. They sure have some cute stamps over there. They also have lots of digital scrapbooking stuff too!

For this challenge I chose good old "Grillin' George". And guess what? He's on sale right now for 50% off!! (I wonder which half is on sale?)

I was in a really goofy and nerdy mood when I made this card...can you tell?? I started a little word-association thing that lead me to the theme for this card. Ready?

Grillin'
George
Lucas
Star Wars

um...that's about it (it was a short word-association). Voila! My theme was hatched. Okay, here it is:

I found the perfect font at dafont.com-- "Star Jedi". So, I HAD to use it. Had to. I colored up old George with my trusty Prismacolor pencils. The sentiment is something I created in Photoshop to match the paper. I kept going between "May the FORK be with you" and "May the PORK be with you". In the end, pork won out. In my book, pork would win EVERY time (unless it went up against chocolate).

Ingredients:
Grillin' George image - Digital Delights
Prismacolor Colored Pencils
Patterned paper - Die Cuts With a View
frosted gems - Michaels
cardstock
stamping ink
